Greetings, well met!
I’m WILBERT TABONE, a multidisciplinary scientist designing and developing technologies which enhance the human condition. I specialise in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience design, Applied Artificial Intelligence, and Spatial Computing.
In my work, I develop intuitive ways to interact with automation and artificial intelligence, as well as novel approaches for people to engage with museums and cultural heritage.

I am a senior scientific researcher and designer who specialises in Human-Computer Interaction, Applied AI, Human Perception, Spatial Computing (VR+AR), Digital Heritage, and New Media Art.
Experienced in exploring problems in a multidisciplinary manner:
-
Human Factors and VR/AR Simulation
-
Worldbuilding for futuring
-
Situated Scenarios
-
Interaction Design Techniques
-
Applied AI pipelines
I have worked with museums, tourism entities, automotive companies, hospitals, and government entities.
CURRENT WORK
I am currently affiliated with the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology, and the Erasmus Medical Centre in the Netherlands.
There I am designing and developing future work scenarios for nurses through robotics, AI, and spatial computing. I am also exploring Situated Scenarios and Worldbuilding as futuring techniques.
Previously, I was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher (ESR) in the SHAPE-IT Innovative Training Network, where I developed innovative AR interfaces to support pedestrians in automated transport environments.

MUSEUMS AND DIGITAL HERITAGE

For the past decade, I have been working with museums to develop innovative tools that enhance their audience experience and allow curators and educators to gain new insights into their collections.
I am passionate about merging technology and science with digital heritage and museology, with projects involving AR and AI guides, tangible interfaces, and several eye-tracking studies.
I have been quite active in the space in the past years: developing Malta's National Community Art Museum, organising a NEMO conference, addressing the World Museum Forum, attending high-level cultural summits, and more recently working on projects with the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam) and the Royal Library (The Hague).
NEW MEDIA ART
As a practising new media artist, I constantly experiment with creative computation, generative art, and spatial computing to create flat work, unstable media, and installations.
In my practice, I let algorithms express my vision as I explore humanity's relationship with an ever-evolving technology landscape.
I also collaborate with other artists in creating interactive installations.
